Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
By using this website or our secure client portal, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website. These terms apply together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
2. Our services
Proficiency Tax LTÉE provides bilingual Canadian tax services, including personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax preparation, non-resident tax services, and representation before the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec. The information you submit through our online forms allows us to open your file; a professional engagement begins only once we confirm the scope of work and accept your file.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate and complete information, to send us the documents needed to prepare your file, and to review your return before it is filed. You remain responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for meeting government deadlines that depend on you, such as sending us your documents on time.
4. Fees and payment
Published prices are starting prices for standard files and are confirmed before any work begins. Additional charges may apply to complex situations, and applicable taxes are extra. No payment is required to start an online form.
5. Client portal
Portal accounts are personal. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend access to protect your file or our systems.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the website or portal: no attempts to gain unauthorized access, disrupt service, submit false information, or use the site for unlawful purposes.
7. Intellectual property
The content of this website, including text, branding, graphics and guides, belongs to Proficiency Tax LTÉE or its licensors. You may not reproduce it for commercial purposes without our written permission.
8. Privacy
Your personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Proficiency Tax LTÉE is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of this website or portal. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing replaces the terms of a confirmed professional engagement.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms or modify the website at any time. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision. Continued use of the website after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario.
